Winston Cup Thunderbird, Boris Said, and Road America

  • September 27, 2017

This was so much fun to shoot. Road & Track’s Sam Smith got the chance to pedal an honest-to-goodness 1993 Winston Cup Thunderbird around Road America, which is pretty great, but road racing ringer Boris Said was on hand, too. What a treat. I’ve been watching Boris Said race ever since I can remember. He is very kind. He gave Sam a few pointers and did some laps, but the rest of the day he just strutted around the paddock demonstrating his fantastic hair.

Sam did really well scooting the big Ford around RA, and I generally just had a blast being near a car that makes a noise that can shake the leaves off all the trees in the state.

Also, that Motorcraft livery is the shit.
