Sometimes shoots take days. Sometimes they take hours. This one took minutes – around 90 of them. Top Gear grabbed me during Pebble Beach last year when they got their hands on the legendary RUF Yellowbird CTR #001, along with its modern big brother CTR 2017. The 3 hours we were supposed to have turned into half that, meaning we had just minutes to shoot the cars, and just one shot at tracking them down a canyon road near Monterey. I was just as impressed with the Top Gear boys’ expertise in car-to-car positioning as I was with the unbelievably cool Yellowbird itself – the pressure was on, but we got it done. This one looked great in the magazine; check out Pat Devereux’s story on topgear.com
